The cats in my family have always been black. Not by choice, but by tradition — a quiet constant that would, without my knowing it, end up naming all of this.
I used to shoot landscapes. Then a friend, a model, asked me to redo her website — and that's how portraiture found its way into my work, almost by accident. It never left.
I work somewhere between portrait and glamour, chasing the same thing every time: that the person in front of me manages to show who they are — or who they'd like to be, if only for a moment. "Hunting the light" isn't just a phrase. It's an itch that never quite goes away, a search for something that, when it finally arrives, is enough.
I prefer working alone. I don't like crowds — much like cats. Indoors or outside, what I look for before every shot is complicity: a space where the other person feels free to open up to the lens.
If, in the end, someone looking at my photos feels even a small pleasure at having seen something beautiful, I've done my job.
